Clean Creatives Pledge

Walking the walk. Catch A Fire has signed up to the Clean Creatives Pledge and here is why.

by Ben May News 9 April 2025

Catch A Fire was never built to support the status quo. From day one, we set out to create standout work for brands that care—about people, about the planet, about doing better. So, when we met the team behind Clean Creatives during NYC Climate Week, something clicked. Their mission to cut the ties between our industry and the fossil fuel giants felt less like a campaign and more like common sense. We don’t want to help businesses that do active harm to have a louder voice. It’s just not the kind of noise we want to make. Signing the Clean Creatives pledge wasn’t a hard decision—it was the natural next step in doing the work we believe in, for the future we want to see.

Why We Signed the Clean Creatives Pledge

The advertising industry is powerful. It shapes narratives, influences behaviour, and amplifies messages. But not every company should have such a loud megaphone. Fossil fuel companies have long relied on marketing agencies to alter their public image, making small sustainability efforts look like major progress while continuing to fuel the climate crisis. That’s a game we refuse to play.

After talking to Clean Creatives, we had some internal conversations about our client mix and what it truly means to align with our values. We scrutinised our partnerships, ensuring they met the high ethical standards we set for ourselves. By the time 2025 rolled in, there was no question: we were signing the Clean Creatives Pledge.

Then a Signature—It’s a Commitment

For us, this isn’t just about making a statement; it’s about action. 2025 is shaping up to be a big year as we:

  • Engage in the global climate conversation, from COP30 to London Climate Action Week.
  • Continue pushing for better industry standards, advocating for responsible, forward-thinking advertising practices.

Joining Clean Creatives isn’t just about saying no to fossil fuel money—it’s about saying yes to working with brands that are genuinely invested in sustainability, equity, and ethical progress. It’s about choosing clients who don’t just talk about change but actually make it happen.

A Community That’s Raising the Bar

We’re proud to join a growing community of agencies, creatives, and strategists who are setting new (and better) standards for what advertising should stand for. Purpose-led businesses deserve clean creative solutions work that doesn’t just capture attention but drives meaningful impact.

For us, walking the walk means turning down work that doesn’t align with our mission and doubling down on work that does. It means leveraging our creativity and strategy for businesses that want to make the world better, not worse.

We know we’re not alone in this, and that’s the most exciting part. A movement is building. The industry is shifting. And together, we’re proving that marketing can be a force for positive change, not just profit.
