Ignite Days: Our purpose in action
What would you do with a paid day to give back?
At Catch A Fire, we believe small actions can spark big change. That’s why every team member gets one day a year to step away from the to-do list and dedicate their time to a cause that matters to them.
Why Ignite Days are important to us
Purpose isn’t just a value we talk about, it’s something we put into action. One of the ways we do this is through Ignite Days. A dedicated CSR initiative that gives every team member one paid day a year to support a charitable cause of their choice.
Whether it’s volunteering solo for a charity that’s personal to you, or teaming up with others to take part in a local opportunity organised by the agency. It’s a chance to get out of the day-to-day and reconnect with the communities around us. It’s also a refreshing reminder of why we do the work we do in the first place.

In 2024 alone, the team collectively gave 481hours back to our local communities across Kent and East Sussex. These have been beach cleans and community gardening to fundraising support, and lending a hand at food banks.
It’s a small commitment that adds up to something meaningful. Not just for the charities and organisations we support, but for our own team too. It encourages us to step outside of our everyday roles, work alongside colleagues we might not cross paths with on a typical day. A reminder to ourselves of the bigger picture.
Why I always use this day
For me personally, I’ve always loved that a business would actively give you time to give back. It’s not a token gesture, it’s an opportunity, and one I’ve taken up every year since joining Catch A Fire.
In previous years, I’ve supported at fundraising events for a local rotary club. This year, I spent a day with two colleagues at Foal Farm Animal Rescue Centre, a brilliant organisation based in Biggin Hill. They provide care, shelter and second chances to animals who have been abandoned, neglected, or can no longer be cared for by their owners.

From dogs and pigs to goats, ducks and rabbits, Foal Farm gives every animal the love and support they need to recover. They rehabilitate and hopefully rehomed or to simply live out their lives in peace and comfort. The Foal Farm team do incredible work, and seeing a glimpse of what goes into it was both humbling and inspiring.
Spending even a few hours supporting a local cause can have a huge impact. For the organisation, it’s extra help and a reminder that people care. For us, it’s a moment to reconnect with what really matters. Ignite Days offer a way to pause, give back, and remember that our time and energy can do good beyond the deadlines and deliverables. They help build a stronger connection with our local area, strengthen team bonds, and reinforce the value of purpose-led work.
If your workplace offers something similar, take it. Say yes. Step out of your comfort zone and get involved. You might be surprised by how much you get out of it too.
And to Foal Farm and all the brilliant charities out there making a difference every day… thank you. We’re proud to support you, and we’ll be back soon.
